Our story begins in the Bronx, NY, the birthplace and mecca of hip-hop (please don’t argue with us here). According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the NYC Community Health Report, the Bronx has ranked #62 out of 62 counties, making it the poorest and unhealthiest county in the state of NY.
This cloud has been over the Bronx for close to ten years. By centering our efforts on the Bronx and collaborating with organizations and communities, we hope to implement and evaluate programming strategies that best meet the needs of Bronx youth, adults and families through physical activity, so that we can begin to move the image and tagline of the Bronx from unhealthiest to healthiest.
